Model Library

Introduction

Model Library is the first level of certification for librarians. This certification level identifies you as a Model Librarian and recognizes your ability to efficiently run a Renaissance library. You can achieve Model Library Certification in just 12 weeks, and you can begin at any time!

Enrolment Form

To enrol into the Renaissance Certification programme, simply fill in our online Enrolment Form.

Criteria

To certify for Model Library, you must maintain the following criteria in your library for any 12-week period.
  • Implement Accelerated Reader and Renaissance best classroom practices.
  • Implement a majority of techniques listed on the Model Library checklist.
  • AR books are integrated across the curriculum.
  • Books and quiz collections support reading needs of teachers and students.
  • Other activities are used to motivate student reading.

What to Submit

Once you have achieved the Model Library criteria, submit the following documents to Renaissance Learning. (Click on the underlined documents below to view and print them.)
  1. Model library application
  2. Model library survey/questionnaire
  3. Model library checklist
