What is the AR BookGuide Teacher List?
AR BookGuide is a premium search tool teachers use to create custom reading lists for their pupils. Searches are based on criteria such as author, interest level, readability level, point value and topic. These custom reading lists are called Teacher Lists. A letter containing information about the Teacher List is generated in AR BookGuide and then sent home to parents/guardians in order to help them more easily find appropriate Accelerated Reader books for their child. The Teacher List is accessible to parents by using AR BookFinder.
What is AR BookFinder?
Detailed search capabilities of AR BookGuide are now accessible to anyone! AR BookFinder is the new search tool from Renaissance Learning that parents, guardians and pupils can use to find appropriate Accelerated Reader books to read. Searches are based on the same criteria that teachers use to best match books to pupils. Using AR BookFinder, book titles from any search can be selected and placed into the programs AR BookBag and then the list can be printed to take to a bookshop or library.
AR BookFinder also provides accessibility to the Teacher Lists generated by classroom teachers using AR BookGuide. An informational letter from the teacher provides the Web address and Keycode in order to access these custom lists that best match Accelerated Reader books to pupils coursework, reading levels and interest levels.

Personal Preferences apply to the logged in user only.
- Edit AR BookFinder Preferences to access AR BookFinder and Informational Letter options.
- Select how many titles you want displayed when returning search results.
General Preferences apply to all users.
- This is where AR BookGuide is set up at a school level.
- Determine the Book Location, Book Level, Points and Custom Fields.

Under General Preferences, you now have the option to select, edit or add more than one Book Location when setting up your account preferences. The location of the book will be displayed in your search results/details page.
When doing an Advanced Search you can also search by Book Location.
