What's New in MathsFacts in a Flash 3.0
The primary focus for the MathsFacts in a Flash™ Renaissance Place™ 3.0 version is to address customer requests for more content and reporting changes.Content
Based on feedback from teachers and staff, a lot of time was spent expanding the content levels on which pupils work.Standard Format
Pupils will master the basic maths facts in the standard format initially, and then practice recognising the missing number in the new alternate formats to accelerate their computational fluency further.
Alternate Format
In order to give pupils further practice on basic maths facts, alternate format levels have been introduced in MathsFacts in a Flash 3.0. These levels appear directly before review levels for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Each of the alternate-format level names start with Alternate Forms so they can be easily distinguished from a standard level. In an alternate format, the number in an equation that a pupil needs to fill in will vary. A standard level shows all of the problems in this format: 9 + 8 =___. In alternate format levels, pupils will see___+5 = 11.
Practice Sessions
In order to give pupils more practice and help them master maths facts more quickly, Practices in MathsFacts in a Flash 3.0 have been updated to include a minimum of 20 questions. Pupils will still continue to see any problems they missed in their last test and any problems that are considered to be difficult for that level. If the combination of missed and difficult problems does not equal 20 or more problems, MathsFacts in a Flash 3.0 will randomly pull additional problems until the pupil has practiced 20 problems. Tests have not changed and will continue to be 40 problems in length.Reports
All of the MathsFacts in a Flash reports were reviewed and updated to a format that is consistent across all Renaissance Place application reports.Pupil Record Report
A new Pupil Record Report has been added to give you a report that shows pupil progress on their current level, as well as all levels the pupil has mastered. This report includes the number of school days to master a level, the number of practices and tests taken for the level, the lowest actual time and lowest time target for the level and if a pupil has mastered multiple time targets for the level.Class Progress Report
The Class Progress Report was updated to include a School Days Since Last Session calculation.TOPS Report
The TOPS Report was updated to use the new report format.Renaissance Place changes
In order to give all of the applications in Renaissance Place a more consistent look and feel, changes have been made to the header and layout of the pages. Note that all header navigation links are now on the second row and that the page titles, such as Assignment Book, are on the page rather than left-justified in the header.New Renaissance Place header
